Capture only the intended area
Select the movement and wheel routine, start a fresh session and move the pointer inside the outlined area. Wheel interaction is prevented from scrolling the page while active so the area remains usable. Capture stops when the pointer or focus leaves the area.
The path uses local normalized coordinates: zero and one indicate the edges of the capture area. It deliberately omits screen coordinates and general browsing activity. Movement is sampled at a bounded rate and the report has a 5,000-event ceiling.
Keep wheel units separate
A wheel event may express its deltas in pixels, lines or pages. The lab groups values by the original delta mode and preserves horizontal and vertical values. A line value cannot be safely added to a pixel value without an additional rendering-dependent conversion.
Touchpads and software can also generate mouse-compatible or wheel events. The application excludes touch and pen pointer origins when the browser exposes them, but it cannot prove the physical source of every compatible event.
Export observations, not unsupported specifications
The chart can help explain a movement routine, and CSV contains the corresponding normalized positions. Neither format measures physical distance. Acceleration, scaling and browser delivery all influence what reaches the page.
Do not use the chart to calculate sensor DPI, USB polling rate or hardware latency. Keep those measurements separate from this browser event record. Share the JSON when you need settings, source labels and limitations to travel with the data.
